The Sun Blotted Out By Smoke & A Green Comet.... Doomsday?

When i got up today I couldn't help but notice that the sunbeams coming in the room had a reddish hue to them, which I thought was a little odd because there's not really any of the major forest fires burning near here.

Later today Environment Canada issued an 'Special Air Quality Statement' for the area and it stated that:
"A plume of smoke from fires in Western Canada is moving at high altitude across the Maritimes, causing hazy skies and a reddish sun. This smoke is not expected to reach the surface or affect air quality in our region. The smoke plume will move slowly off to the east tonight."

So the fires from out West are so intense, burning so mightily that the smoke has reached us here in Atlantic Canada (and I assume all regions West of us)

And in the nighttime skies a 'green' comet makes it's approach to Earth:

From spaceweather.com: "A GREEN COMET APPROACHES EARTH: Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner is approaching Earth. On Sept. 10th, it will be 0.39 AU (58 million km) from our planet and almost bright enough to see with the naked eye. Already it is an easy target for backyard telescopes. Last night, Michael Jäger of Weißenkirchen, Austria, caught the 7.7th magnitude comet passing through star cluster Tombaugh 5 in the constellation Camelopardalis":

Super crazy stuff!

So I was disappointed last night to find on my walk that near all the posters I put up around the Fredericton Market and Charlotte St. Arts Center were torn down... And they were torn down, they didn't climb off the poles themselves... Granted, it is technically 'against the law', but it's for a great cause, animals and the SPCA.. Plus, I considered those areas, well kinda arty, trendy areas, lots of young folk live around there.
Now it could very well be that the city took them down, as that street leads to the Queens Square park and there's a lot of city vehicles that travel along the street I put them up on.. Just kinda crappy, that if it wasn't the city, that someone would do that... Like why? You don't like music? You don't like animals? You don't like supporting both?

Some people's kids!

My condolences to my good friend Nancy over the loss of her Doberman 'Angie'.
