Quite sad to have received news of the passing of Doug & Lisa Gibbon's Mother, Mary.
Affectionately known to some of us as 'Momma G'. My condolences to the family and her many friends.
Doug joined Dreamkick back in the 1990's after Shawn King had left the band. Doug brought not only a whole new fan base from where he lives outside Oromocto, but his family, Sister, Mother and Father were frequently seen at many of our shows out that way.
Mary was a die hard fan. She Rocked out just like everyone else and always had a smile and a hug for you.
When Steve 'The Buzz Man' Dunnett and I did the Crazy Train there were more than a few nights that Mary listened, she loved the 'AC/DC' and I hated the 'AC/DC' - I loved the 'Motorhead' and she hated the 'Motorhead', so we'd always try to play some 'Motorhead' whenever she requested some 'AC/DC' lol, sometimes Steve would throw on some 'AC/DC' for her.
Couldn't find a photo of Mary and I together, but did find this photo from 1990-something. Mary with her Daughter Lisa. Photo could be either from the infamous 'Oak Room' or the 'Maritime Club' on Canadian Forces Base Gagetown as we played both venues frequently.
She was a sweet lady who will be missed by many. Rest well Momma G, you'll always be in our hearts.
