Thunder & Lightning

Kapow!!! Crackle Crackle BOOM! Kashooooo !! Those are my 'thunder' noises, they are copyright, so you can't use them or I'll sue you into Australia!

Yes! Great thunder today, pretty much since around 1:45PM it's been storming... Albeit, the lightning's been kind a let down... Supposed to storm into the evening! Hopefully the lightning will pick up and kick some ass!

Got a surprise in the mail today! A t-shirt came from Halifax's 'Dazor'. I saw the band perform at last Summer's Maritime Metal & Hard Rock festival, they played in the Battle of the Bands, in which I was a judge. They were my favorite of all the bands that played. They were much different than a lot of the more Metal-esque bands that played in the battle. Like I told Ian (singer and guitarist for the band), 'Had I had it my way, the would have won last year, but NNOOooo they won THIS year instead!
Anyhoo! I am the first person to order a shirt from the Dazor site! So here's a weblink to their music and their band's website, go order some merch! These guys are fantastic. Much like Moncton's 'Melonvine', I find Dazor hearkens back to the days of 'Grunge', but it's not like they've set out intent to do so.
Here's the link!- - Links....

Check out their hit single 'Back To The Lounge'

I'm hoping the guys will get up to Fredericton sooner than later! So all may bask in their glorious music!

Go git yer 'Dazor' merch! Damnit!

CHIPPY!

I went outback to clean off my lawn furniture when all of a sudden Chippy appears!

This is a past photo of Chippy.

I thought Chippy was dead or had moved off down the road in new adventures. There was a cat haunting around my fence a month or so ago and I thought it might have got a couple of the Chipmunks. I don't see 'Skit' the female anywhere recently and the one's I have seen seemed to be youngins'... But I knew this was Chip because we kinda startled each other and then I think when it recognized my voice, he came back. So, I had startled him off the bird feeder and I couldn;t believe how fat he's gotten. I laughed out loud. Fat fucker, he's probably been porking down all this food and couldn't get out of his hole! So I'm laughing at Chip's size and he starts to go up the bird feeder pole, only to slide back down because of his fat haha! So funny, I said, 'Git yer fat ass up that pole!' (Whoa, flashbacks of DJing at the nudy bar once or twice!)... Anyhow, good to see 'ol Chip is around.

THIS is Chippy now... Lookit d'at! 'Baby got back!'

Was out for a walk and there was practically nobody. Pffft to hot for ya Freddy Beach? It was a haul for me. I had been on the road since early this morning with that doctor's appointment, then I had some errands to run but I didn't do too far of walking while at my Bro's place, so I wanted to push myself and it was beautiful out, ANY Summer, Spring Fall or even Winter day I want to be out for a walk. Rainy days are write-offs, so yeah, I need to get out.
I'll just sleep good tonight.

Music? It's been a while since I posted any 'Ghost'....
Faith
Ghost

There is a scourge in the guise of sanctity
A perpetrator with a quill
Although it's
Not perceived and although it’s not mystery
The accuser sends the bill

I am all eyes
I am all ears
I am the wall
And I'm watching you fall

Because faith is mine!
The Luddites shun the diabolical
A fecal trail across the land
Although it
Stinks, feels and looks identical
And a pack of fools can take the stand

I am all eyes
I am all ears
I am the wall
And I'm watching you fall

Because faith is mine!

I am all eyes
I am all ears
I am the wall
And I'm watching you fall

I am all eyes
I am all ears
I am the wall
And I'm watching you fall

I am all eyes
I am all ears
I am the wall
And I'm watching you fall
Because faith is mine!

[Updated]: BRAND NEW 'Dischord' from Moncton! Prepare to have your face ripped off and your eyeballs plucked out!

jebiz crispy! So, I go see my 'doctor' today. It's the first time I've seen my original 'nurse practitioner' that I was assigned to over a year ago... The stand in was very nice.. to be honest I kinda had a crush on her (But with that whole Doc Hanson episode that happens, I felt there'd be no use on asking her out, as it's against the doctor "law")... Anyhoo! So, in April I had x-rays done on my back, so I hadn't heard anything back (ha!) about it so I asks my 'nurse/practitioner' if there's any notes. All seems 'well' with my back, some regular wear and tear, but the arthritis isn't eating away at it. A small curve to my lower lumbar... But nothing about the problem area. So I'm telling her that, something, has to be wrong, because, well right about now each day - 4/4:30pm- my back starts to really hurt, or more precisely, just adjacent to my spine, right between my spine and shoulder blade... My guess is that it has something to do with the ribs I broke in the '90's... So she says, well, that area wouldn't have been included in the x-ray..... And I was kinda like, 'well what the hell??' I showed her 'stand in' where the pain was, we spoke on two different visits about it, I showed her precisely where the pain was... But apparently I need an x-ray of my ribs... Not my 'back'/spine.... So, the wait for an appointment begins again.
My 'nurse/practitioner' was kinda blown away that we've sent in 4 referrals to Dr. Ekart in the last year and I've not heard a thing from them. I'm firmly convinced the guy wants nothing to do with me.. She said they'd put in another and if I had not heard from them in 3 months time, then we'd try to send me to Saint John, as there's no more rheumatologists in the area. The other one is all booked up. I REALLY don't want to have to travel down to SJ just for a doctors visit. That means taking the bus there and back which is like $60 bucks or something. Then once at the bus depot I'd have to figure out how to get to wherever the doctor is and considering the bus only leaves and comes back at certain times a day, I'd have to make sure I can make the appointment time and then get back to the bus in time... Fucking pain in the ass.
So this will be more months that I'm not on any arthritis medication... I suggested we try to get me into the dermatologist I was seeing as she wanted to put me on methotrexate way back.. But thought it was more in Dr. Eckarts court...

Ok, switchin' gears!

I signed up ages ago to get email notifications from Google on certain topics of interest I have. From Ion rocket engines to Gobekli Tepe. Lately there's been a lot of emails on the latter. Gobekli Tepe was recently added to the UNESCO world heritage list and while there's been basically 'tourist' type news, I had been at a loss to find out what was going on with the digs at the site.
When the original archaeologist Klaus Schmidt was alive, he updated the 'world' on a regular basis, but since his passing there'd been very little .
I got an email the other day, and it was talking about the UNESCO business but then also went into just a little bit of the digging news. More enclosures have been found, which isn't really 'news' as Schmidt had down ground penetrating radar and there's something like 6-8 soccer pitches more of enclosures

The above photo shows just some of the excavated enclosures. This article I read, and get this, said that excavations are anticipated to be on going for, hold on to your seats, another 150 YEARS! THAT's how huge this site is and again, for those who haven't read my posts on this absolutely stunning site, which has OBLITERATED our notions on "stone age/hunter gatherer" time periods, when huemahns had not even begun to make iron or copper tools, this site dates back some 11,000 years.. Predating Stonehenge by a staggering 6000 years!!

AND! I did some 'digging' of my own and found an absolutely awesome website to keep myself in the know about work going on at the site, those interested as well can go to 'The Tepe Telegrams, for more info!
And on another note about history, I picked up a brand new book today called 'The Cygnus Key' by Andrew Collins, who wrote the last book I read on Gobekli Tepe 'Gobekli Tepe: Genesis of the Gods'.

In this newest book Mr. Collins dives deeper into the site and it's relation to the stars and unknown, 'prehistoric cultures/civilizations... And when I say, 'Prehistoric', I just mean 'pre'-our history as i firmly subscribe to the theory that pre ice age there were civilizations that were completely erased by global upheavals and the ice age. This place is being coined as the "birth place of civilization" and aside from going back to |Egypt sometime, There's nowhere else on the planet I'd want to go more. I'd kill to see Gobekli Tepe with my bare eyes!

I had spent the last week at my Brother Scott's place, house sitting for the first time there as they had an excursion to the North Eastern states (Maine, Massachusetts). They got a nice place on the Northside. Was nice to 'get away', even if it was still in town. I'm a born and raised Southsider, so I don't know much about the Northside, didn't really spend much time over there as a kid even.

No more excursions for me, until maybe the end of the month, might go spend some time with Gordy and Crystal and get some more sailing in and also at the end of August I'd like to get down to see Terry Daly and Joanne down in Chester Nova Scotia, that little piece of paradise they have down there is almost too good to pass up going to in the Summer.

Well, suppers on, going for an evening walk and then some evening reading! Stay frosty folks!

An Oasis

Don't know why, maybe boredom but I decided to watch the documentary on 'Oasis'...

Sometimes you watch a band documentary, a band you might not even like and by the end you come about face on them. You may not even become a fan, but you can appreciate the struggles they've had, the obstacles they've over come.
But when you got a band, where the guy walks off stage because he doesn't feel it or he's got a poop stuck in his butt hair.. Whatever, your fans, which you so loudly claim you love, you put a bad taste in their mouths and who knows, maybe for true fans it doesn't even do anything bad for them, they just 'know' the band so well, they are like, "oh, It's just the Gallagher brothers, they are just like that".
Well I wanted to be a Rock star, I know I didn't try hard enough, but to see some people abuse that position is infuriating to me.  Whether it's Kurt Cobain, Axl Rose or Liam Gallagher... It's rotten.

I've never liked the band, I've never understood why people liked the band. I know they don't care what people think, I know they are crass, I know they are dodgy... But this documentary did NOTHING to make me like the band any better.
I just don't get them. I don't get their music and you people know me well by now or at least have for a long long time and know I'm not closed minded... These guys are just tarts, they boasted they'd be around forever. Even in this documentary they did. But where are they now? A '90's memory.

All this stuff with the fighting and violence, drugs... Sure, sure other bands have been through it, but these guys are just tarts. If I never hear another 'Oasis' song again, I'll be just totally over the moon... Not that I can even every recall hearing an Oasis song... I think the only ones I know are 'Champagne Supernova' and 'Wonderwall'.. Whinny, crappy, uninspired...

Where the hell am I now?

Some new friends.
Paia - She reminds me of my ol girl Piggey Sue. Especially in the early morning as she walks around like a brat with a cooking pot and a wooden spoon bangin' it as loud as she can crying "I want outside! I want outside".

Cooper AKA 'Coop' - This old fellah is so chill. I think he's an old soul.

Aura - Poor gal. She is a rescue and was abused by her previous owners. It's taken near a month for her to be comfortable around me. I think I must resemble the one who abused her or someone around that person. She's a good girl. Just delicate. But speaking the majik word 'Walk?'.... She'll become your best friend... Until about 10 minutes after you get back and she's like, "HOLY crap! Who the hell are you?? Why are you here? What do you want???"

I don't know where I am or how I got here... I just woke up here last Friday... Got to stop huffing laundry detergent... But it's a nice place with a pool and an awesome oven and stove! Back home in a couple days! Hopefully Elsa didn't party too hard while I was gone.

Not Stupid Huemahn Tricks, Just Stupid Huemahns

See, it's stories like the following that leads me to spell 'huemahns' like I do, because I don't believe we deserve the moniker to be spelled right.

From the CBC:
Videos show girls handfeeding bears at Vancouver-area home

A bear conservationist says she is shocked by Instagram videos showing two Vancouver-area girls hand-feeding black bears through an open patio door.

In one of the videos, the two unidentified girls giggle when a bear cub swats at one of them after she gave it a cracker.

Another video shows a girl feeding a cub a cracker through the sliding door.

In a third, a man, who appears to be their father, feeds an adult-sized bear a full package of crackers through the same door.

A fourth shows a sow and cub in the family's backyard.

The videos appear to be posted by one of the girls on her Instagram account.

It's the sort of behaviour that Christine Miller of the North Shore Black Bear Society finds horrifying.

"I was really shocked when I saw that," said Miller.

The bears may have to be shot if they continue to be hand fed, Miller said. Feeding black bears gets them used to humans, and once they associate people and houses with food they can become dangerous, she said.

VIDEOBelcarra's White Pine Beach remains closed due to problem bear
Miller said while bear cubs may seem adorable, when they grow up into a 150-kilogram adult, even a playful swat is dangerous.

"Most people would be very uncomfortable with a bear approaching them. It could end up in human injury," she said.

Neither the family nor the province's Conservation Officer Service returned calls for comment."

Unbelievable stupid huemahn behavior... That a 'parent' would condone and lead this type of ridiculous stunt.
I bet this family LOVES animals. I bet they'd be super upset when they find out that bears on the North Shore are shot because they have been getting into yards and people's garbage.

I've been in the position of having been attacked by a rogue bear. The story is way back in my Blogs, but it happened in '95 when I was working up in Northern BC. We had a bear, because the people that had used the camp before us had been feeding the bears in the area. We were up in this place to close down a camp, used to help rehabilitate troubled youth.
The female bear and her young one, we of course stayed away from, but they had fed them so much that the Ma bear and her cub had set up camp in a tree right beside our main cabin.
After a few days we noticed in a field a male bear that was literally pacing back and forth.
One day after working we returned to find the BBQ was destroyed by the bear, then the next day, some workers heading to the base cabin to make lunch we utterly shocked when they approached the cabin to see the front door had been busted in and then the male bear came OUT through the kitchen window and ran off... That night, the male bear came back while we were sleeping and broke through a bedroom window beside the room we were all in and was trying to get into the cabin. Two of the guys that were with us that had licenses to use guns, fired off in the air to scare the bear off.
The next night the bear came back and broke out a car window, bit a chunk out of the drivers seat and gnawed on the steering wheel.
All this happened because these people thought it was a 'fun' idea to feed these bears. If we had not been more vigilante who knows what would have happened to us...

I just cannot believe the utter stupidity of people. There's NO justifying this, IF anything they were teaching their children horrible awful behavior. So, let's say. these girls and their dad were never attacked, but the girls attempted this with THEIR children later in life and they get attacked, chewed up and pooped out on the forest floor or better yet onto their very own yard. I bet they'd blame EVERYONE else aside from themselves for this.

On another note. Another CBC story from home today was about a disabled lady who's calling "discrimination" because a McDonalds told her that they'd no longer serve her going through the drive-thru on her motorized 4 wheel 'scooter', which is NOT a wheelchair and even if it was a wheelchair, you still cannot do this..
I guess this lady doesn't realized that this is more than likely an insurance issue. 'Drive-Thru's' are for motor vehicles and that encompasses motorcycles... But not wheelchairs or 4 wheel scooters.
IF, she doesn't feel that the public entry ways to the restaurant fit her needs, THAT might be "discrimination" and THAT's something you could take up with a lawyer or the restaurants main branch.
People are so entitled. It's all me me me me me. With not even a second of thought for the world (and their own and other's safety).....

End 'O Rant....

OK, Maybe I Jumped The Gun

Which is better than 'jumping the shark'!

I shouldn't be sayin that 'Chris is gonna miss us', because that's how thing's looked when 'Arthur' was coming up the coast.
So, still prep!! And if it should not hit us, well then you got all them supplies for when one does or for Winter when we get a huge blizzard.

According to 'The Weather Network':
https://www.theweathernetwork.com/news/articles/atlantic-season-tropical-storm-hurricane-eastern-canada-chris/106073/

Parts of Newfoundland and bits of Nova Scotia may get a bit of a slap from 'Chris'. They have an 'embed' code, but it doesn't work....

Anyhow! Hope everyone is enjoying their Summer... If not, well git out there and do something crazy this Summer, like... Jumping a shark!

Don't Be Worrying About 'Chris'

Was just checking out the radar for the East Coast. From what it looks like, the tropical storm 'Chris' is going to dissipate and fade away.
This graphic from the National Hurricane Center will give you a better idea:
Here's an animated /Gif from the GOES-East Sat, it's a pretty nifty sat, has fantastic imagery. You can see 'Chris', looks pretty well formed, but the 'Intellicast' site, shows 'Chris' breaking up pretty quick.

Now, I know I'll probably ruffle some feathers here, but I'm a bit sad my potential hurricane won't be even much of a footnote in the hurricane season for 2018, but I do love a great storm...

Speaking of which, today's rolling through of thunder storms was pretty lame. Lasting only minutes, not even a half an hour I doubt.

That's all for today!
