Holy '80'scrashOrama! + Bonus Updated Photo(s?)

Don't wanna complain.....but.... I feel like fuckin crap. Even stretching didn't save me from the latent pain that comes with hard physical activity... Fuck, when we were kids we would have to shovel a near triple wide driveway and a standard driveway ourselves... I only did about 40 minutes of labor yesterday lol.
I knew I'd be beat, and I woke up late and beat, so I thought a good hot shower will help kick start my day and I was in that shower until the heat ran out... Now a few hours later I feel splattered, tattered and torn. Like I fell down a huge boulder strewn ravine... No not Reveen.... Though I kinda dated his daughter in law once... Story for another time....

I dunno why, but I've been on an 80's Pop kick for like 3/4 weeks... But I've mentioned this before, How sometimes for weeks I'll locked into one band, one album, one song for days and weeks...
(Don't worry I thoroughly digested the new Behemoth album and the new High On Fire album)

I've been packing an every increasing '80's Pop' playlist, with over 180 songs.... I know '80's Pop', 'Pop' in general gets a bad rap.... Some say the '80's Pop / Rock scene was horrible... I totally disagree... And I also disagree that the early 80's were filled with a lot of songs that had no brains or meat in them and I'm telling you, nearly every single 'Hit' of the 1980's certainly deserved it's place... Sure, there may be one or two out there but these songs were embraced by the masses ears and hearts and souls (Listening to Huey Lewis & The News' 'Heart & Soul' right this minute)... For those of us who grew up from the early 1970's into the 1980's, we were part of a music revolution, don't worry you '90's kids, you were too|!
Really, since the dawn of 'Rock'N'Roll' the World over has been witness to a global phenomenon. the literal 'birth' of all these music genres... Could we do without a genre called 'Penis Punk'?... I think so.. But moreover I'm talking about the birth of the 'Hard Rock' 'Rock', 'Pop', R&B (post '70's) and yes, even 'Country' music evolved (if you want to call it that)...
College radio stations became the 'venues' for the 'underground' scenes of Heavy Metal, Punk and alternative Rock, Pop, and on and on.
That's something I kinda worry about, I mean 'worry', like way way way way back in the deepest recesses of my mind, kinda 'worry'... That we may not see any more 'births' of new innovative music... What can happen that'll be new? The whole 'genre' thing in music has run amok, so you get things like 'Penis Punk' as a self claimed 'genre' for your music, which of course all stems from every single goddamned band saying, "Oh, but we don't sound like anyone else, we're totally original, you can't put us in a genre"... Sorry, but those days are over. Now all these 'new' genres are just mutated  offspring of some kind of Pop, Rock Or Metal, Punk,
So flashback to the 1980's... 'Roxy's' on the Exhibition grounds... also was known as for some time 'Skate City'.. A roller skating rink, there, young and old alike rolled in circles, as if on a massive turntable, while the DJ played the latest, greatest Pop hits and some old Disco one's as the whole Roller rink thing went hand in hand with Disco for some time, I mean, ya didn't see peeps out roller skating to Dio, Iron Maiden and Sabbath...

Mom use-ta listen to lots of 'Lightfoot'. I seen him once, but he didn't see me, I was hiding....

Snow... I mean so! Snow storm has passed, wasn't a 'doozy', some strong gusts last evening, but it'll all be just sugar for what's aboot to come!
I did some stretching, which lol, then I did a little bit of shoveling, my neighbors do so much for me and they are on their way back from SJ and I just wanted to at L|EAST break a hole in the 'wall' of snow at the toes of the driveway.... My arms feel like rubber bands now... BUT, I took my time, no need to give myself a cardiac arrest.. Fuck I'd be some pissed off if snow was my nail in the coffin!

Winter is coming!

Some Visitors Today...

I figured that Buddy and his friends and fam are all hibernating or 'deep sleeping' as they do wake up on and off through the Winter... Question is... Was this early blast of Winter the end of them? Hopefully Buddy is down there on his bed of peanuts...

My friend Nancy says I've been mean to the squirrels that were around this Summer. Several times that one infernal tree rat would try to impress me by 'walking like a huemahn'.. But it didn't impress shit!
So I yelled at the squirrels, squirted them with water, threw pine cones at them... Which they'd just think I was throwing them food and they'd chase after them...\
[Explanation here: I just don't randomly hate these squirrels... I didn't just yell at them and throw things are them because I'm a mean tree rat hatin' bastid... No, these squirrels 'bullied' my chipmunk friends, chasing them off and the biggest one, was trying to dig into the yard and get at Buddy's stash, I don't know if ya's remember it, but yeah, one of the buggers dug up the yard trying to dig it's way down into Buddy's den... THAT's where the 'tree rat animosity' comes from!]

Once the cold weather set in and the snow hit the ground and the ground certainly feels frozen, I thought, 'Ok, I got some peanuts left, I'll toss 'em to the stupid squirrels if I see them around'....

So this morning, I was getting ready and saw out my kitchen window that one of my nemeses was out on the fence, watching me in the kitchen window.... Creepy bastard....

So I threw on my boots and grabbed my nuts (HA!) Or I could have said, 'grabbed my bag of nuts'!! and went out and threw the peanuts about for the stupid tree rats... It just looked at me from the fence, then looked at the ground, looked at me, looked at the ground, looked at me, looked at the ground.... So I thought, 'ok, if you're too stupid to figure this out, fuck you' and walked back into my apartment....

Maybe about 20 minutes later as I was getting ready to go out and do some errands, I thought I saw something grey (gray) and bushy on the rail of my steps.... So i went over to my door and this is what I see....

Fucking tree rats....


Had the worst stomach ache in a long long time today... I infrequently get gut pains and have always wondered when my gut would give out on me from all the meds I've taken over near 18 years... About a decade ago I asked my then rheumatologist what exactly we do when my stomach won't handle pills anymore and she just said, "Well cross that bridge when we get there".... So.... no plan then...

Anyhow, this pain today would like ramp up, like a crescendo until I could just about not bare it anymore, then it would subside and this repeated all day. I had set out to get a proper shovel, the one I bought from the 'Dollarstore', well, at $3 I should have known better.. I mean, it's a kids shovel, but I thought at least it would be strong enough just to clear snow off my steps... Barely, I could feel it could break any time.
Anyhow, I set out, guts churning, and ended up just going to Sobey's and back and while at Sobey's I had to get some cream from the pharmacy and didn't know if I was gonna puke, pass out or shit myself... The pain was so bad I was sweating.
Made it home, had a few puffs off of the dry vape and crashed... Right up until 330, waking up on and off because of my stomach, but then I managed to crash again and when I woke up, felt a bit raw, but the pain wasn't coming and going... Hopefully it's done with me....

Blizzard coming tomorrow... 15 to 25 cm of snow (5 to 9inches) winds up to 50k.... Better have had them snowblowers prepped up for the season!

Staycation Recap & The Bitter Cold Of November [Video]

As per my last blog post, it's fucking cold!! AND, ok, so, just before Saturday November 3rd, Environment Canada issued a 'Special Weather Statement'... That one was the first weekend when we got 110km/hr winds that took out power all over the province.. THEN, just when the last remaining folk had just got their power back, on Thursday, November 8th, another 'Special Weather Statement', this one for the Remembrance Day weekend, that called for snow, rain and high winds again, that was on Saturday night ... Or was it Sunday night that I lost power at my Brother's place in Marysville... Then we had ANOTHER special weather statement for today, Wednesday, Nov 14th, MORE high winds, snow last night, more power outages, schools closed... -27 degree weather over night....

Another storm to affect the Maritimes on Friday.

A low pressure system will move up the eastern US seaboard Thursday night and track south of New Brunswick on Friday. Snow is expected to begin in the southwest early Friday morning and spread to northern regions by late morning. Areas along the Fundy coast may see a changeover to ice pellets or rain Friday afternoon before precipitation tapers off to flurries overnight. Strong southeast to easterly winds are also expected during the day on Friday.

At this time, there is still considerable uncertainty in the exact track of the system which will affect total snowfall amounts expected. Keep updated on the latest forecasts as snowfall warnings may be required. -

Winter does not 'officially' start until December 21st!! This is just.... FUCKED!! Yes, yes I know we live in Canada and we have Winter, but -27 degree weather in November? C'mon!

If you live in the Lincoln, Oromocto, Geary/Waterville area and have seen our garbage cans, please let us know so we can come pick them up. They are probably lonely, cold and confused as they've never really been out of our yard. Just a note on the left garbage can, it can be a little sketchy, so approach with caution and whatever you do, just don't blink at it, it'll tear your throat out....

This is insanity! BUT! I know what's going on!

Here's my theory!
 Our local power company, NB Power was recently stopped by the province, they wanted to increase are already crazy heating fees, but the government said "NO!" (for once).... So my theory is that NB Power has conspired with 'HAARP' the global weather changing machine based in Alaska, to change our weather, making it bitterly cold early, so that we all turn on our heaters earlier and higher than usual. thus making them the money they want!!!
I'm pretty sure Jesse Ventura would look into this case!!

Today it was announced that Metallica and the Foo Fighters (and others) would be playing a tribute concert to honor the late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell While the Heavy Metal/Rock News site 'Blabbermouth' deleted these paragraphs from their story, I found them on another site.... Not sure why Blabbermouth would have deleted this, as I felt it was very moving, true and something that we all, with friends and family, should keep in mind. Especially in New Brunswick where it seems depression and mental health issues are almost at an epidemic level. "METALLICA frontman James Hetfield said that he was at a loss for words over the singer’s passing. “It does make you hug those around you, for sure — bandmates, family that’s out here, family at home,” he said. “It makes you realize that, you know, there is a darkness that anyone and everyone can find and feel that they’re trapped in.” Hetfield continued: “And when you’re there — and at least I know the depth of my darkness at times — it is difficult when you’re in that space to even fathom that there’s someone there that can help you or has been through that before. Home Again....

Nice to be home again. Just got back from a 5 day 'staycation' at my older Brother Scott and my Sister in-law's while they went to Ontario for a break.

Man, I'm waiting for my taxi and fucking see that Stan Lee has died! I mean, not a total surprise, the guy was 95... I'm sure anyone who recognizes him, has seen him for the last decade or so appearing in Marvel movies, from the Spider Man's of 2002 to the latest Marvel movies most recently in theater and possibly some to come (If they've been filming)...But any time you saw him you might have thought, 'Holy shit! Stan's still alive!'
Of course like any kid I grew up reading Marvel comics. Introduced to Spider Man by those cheesy early morning cartoons, the Spidey who made an appearance on the 'Electric Company'.

While I did collect comics as a kid, I started to just like 'Spider Man' as a character and less as a comic book character or cartoon. Marvel soon became kinda trite and boring to me as a reader and I sought out darker and more violent content.
But when I was 16, I knew my first tattoo would be Marvel's 'The Punisher' (Long before Dolph Lundgren sullied the character with a horrible movie - They didn't even put the skull on his chest!)..
And for my second tattoo at 17, I also knew what it would be and that was the new and fresh amazingly drawn Spider Man by Todd McFarlane

THAT tattoo, don't look so fresh now, many years later, time has taken it's toll.

I did collect the 'Spider Man 2099' comic book series because it was a much fresher take on the character that was created by the legendary Stan Lee. So to Stan, thanks for the great entertainment you've given myself and millions and millions of other people the World over.
Spider Man, like Santa Claus, Godzilla and Mr. T are recognized everywhere on the planet and that's something to achieve, to create something that stands the test of time, is reborn and nurtured by generation after generation (ok, maybe not 'Mr. T'.)
R.I.P. Excelsior!

Always nice to stay at Scott and Andrea's. Aura their dog was much more calm and sociable with me this time. The poor pup, Scott and Andrea adopted her some 7 or 8 years ago and she had been abused... Very badly and those effects remain today. She's very wary of strangers, not that she's dangerous, quite the opposite, she' scared shitless... Or was... Now she's much better with me, although each night I got into bed and Aura and their cat Cooper were there, Aura would look at me like, "Ummm Ok guy, I know you're supposed to be here, but are you sure you're supposed to be.. HERE, in OUR bed??"....
Cooper is awesome, 9 year old black cat. He's cool, he just chills out. He'll go outside for a bit, but he's not into chasing and climbing no more. He'd sit and watch documentaries and movies with me

No news to New Brunswick folk, but we got slapped by another storm. This one bringing some snow, which stayed and more crazy ass fucking wind. The lights flickered all evening on Saturday until at about 5 to midnight, they went out. always prepared, I had my flashlights and LED lamps. Power was restored there about an hour or so later. But then the wind howled all day into Sunday, Sunday night and abated last night
I got some vids I'll stitch into something in the next days or so... Oh, yeah, there's MORE snow coming tomorrow and MORE wind forecast for Wednesday... I think I'd like a do-over of this Fall. I mean what the fuck? We had snow in October and snow that stayed in November... The temperatures dropped to fucking -17 last night... -17!!! That's redonkulous! And more of it coming! Oh well... Spring's only 4-5 months away....
