I was just thinking about all these people dissin and rippin on TOOL.... People saying the new album sounds like '10,000 Days' or other tracks or albums.... Yet these people LOVE AC/DC who have written the same song for several decades now!

Oh and about Maynard and this sexual assault thing... I wrote one of the journalists who wrote the story on the Twitter accusations by anonymous 'people' that Maynard Keenan had sexually assaulted them.
One of those accounts led back to another Twitter and email account that belonged to a MAN...

The journalist was super quick in responding and said there had been NOTHING further since Keenan dismissed the claims.. No investigation, no arrests and no charges...

Reading further, several Rock media outlets chose not to print the 'accusations' as one of accusers failed to reply to any of the emails sent and the other would not send any corroborating evidence and left it at, "I'm working with Rolling Stone" (The same Rolling Stone that was sued for publishing a story of assault that proved to be false... Just sayin...)

In the currently climate one can't just get away with 'paying people off' anymore. IF these accusations had any grounds they'd be moving forward... The cases against Gomeshi and that hedley asshole certainly moved quickly.

And I ain't anti women, I am not NO rape apologist. People cannot be tried in the court of public opinion. Leave it to the courts for that.

Where's My Dang TOOL?! .... Wait a minute...

So yeah, it's my own decision, but I've never had credit cards, does it make some things inconvenient? Yes...

So I had a gift card for Amazon and when I saw the new TOOL album was available on Amazon I thought to meself, 'Meself, you can use the gift card and then cover the rest with PayPal'... But nope.. Amazon don't use PayPal....

TOOL is an odd duck, they JUST put up their catalog of albums digitally... Unlike a lot of bands, they were not selling the album on their own website.. Sure sure their social media pages had links to Amazon and Apple and some other shit sites, but the TOOL band website was barely updated... And after listening to Maynard talk in a few interviews I got the feeling these guys just don't have their shit together... A promise of vinyl versions was suggested, but I ain't seen the album on vinyl yet (Really I'd love to get 'Undertow' and 'Ænima' and '10,000 Days' on vinyl, that'd be kick ass)....

So, in somewhat of a panic I needed to figure out where I could get the new TOOL album and then it dawned on me.... Backstreet Records!!
And so I called Eric and asked if he could order it in for me and he most certainly did...

After I had placed my order, in fact later that day, I began to see reports that the pre-order for the deluxe super duper CD version of the album had sold out, this set in motion the thoughts of, 'will I get the album the day it comes out?' and ABSOLUTELY nothing on Eric here... All he can do is order it, he can't make it arrive any quicker or ship on any date. He's a passenger just like me....

Now, sure, I can go on Youtube right now and probably listen to the entire album.. But I ain't gonna do that.
I've heard the title track, some clips of other tracks... But I'll maintain, I'll have some discipline for once and wait this out..

Saint John Adventure - August 22-25 2019

So, yeah, a loaded weekend it was, sort of!

On Thursday I took the Maritime bus down to Saint John, New Brunswick to visit my Brother Gordy his fiance and her kids.
On Friday there was a surprise birthday for Crystal's oldest daughter Ariel, so we surprised her at a bar in uptown SJ. Great evening. Karaoke, drinks, laughter and a great evening!

Saturday we were supposed to go sailing, but you'll have to watch the video to see what went down on Saturday and Sunday! Such suspense!! What happened???? Only one way to find out:

TOOL's 'Fear Inoculum' & Alita (My dog, not the Anime character)

I'm a huge fan of the band TOOL... See, you have to write it like that, because there's smart-asses out there who will go, "Ohhh you like TOOLS do you?" or some shit like that....

I've been eagerly awaiting the new album, for years and even more so since we learned it was recorded, mixed/mastered and pre -orders FINALLY appeared!

So I thought AWESOME! I'll pre-order the album from Amazon, as I have a gift card for like $50, if it's more than that Canadian, then I'll use Paypal to pay off the difference... Go, order the exclusive, limited run super duper LED... Wait, let them explain the CD packaging:

So, I thought about it for a couple weeks and I'm SOOOOO glad the other day, I went back to a music resource I've had since I was a teenager... Backstreet Records, Fredericton's longest running indie music store!
I called up Eric, explained my problem and the addition that I don't use a credit card and he ordered the pre-order for me! And today I read... It looks like it's sold out!! So I may have slipped in, just squeaked by and made it into the pre-orders... If I didn't happen to get in for the pre-order then I'll be happy getting the album any other way, I think there's vinyl coming.. So if all else fails I'll at least have one TOOL album on vinyl...

I've been looking for some previews of the packaging, but so far there's nothing... Wish the band would even post something, I'm guessing they'd at least have some mock ups... something!!!

Slowly but surely I've started to root through my stuff, looking for anything I can throw away...So far so good, got the main room of the basement cleared of junk that was old and not used, now I just have to get new boxes, wipe down a lot of stuff and throw out the old boxes. 

But as I was going through stuff today, I found Alita's old harness and a few leads, her raincoat which she always looked so sad wearing... Which I threw out it all... But... I couldn't get rid of the harness... I don't even know why... it's useless to me, but it's a piece of her and even though I've gotten rid of most everything she had, I can't bring myself to throw this harness out.

And what would the day be without some chipmunks..... And some great footage of Elsa sleeping... be sure to not skip through the video or you might miss the chipmunk climbing up my leg... And that was it's idea not mine lol....

Tonight while on my walk a young eagle, HUGE wingspan, flew right across the green towards and above me, swooped up to a top branch of a mighty elm tree by the christ church cathedral perched there for a moment and then came back down towards me but the trees along the trail blocked my view and I had video recording but the eagle deaked me out and I was trying to head it off attempting to capture it as it came out of the trees, but it veered back in towards downtown and I lost it.

Friday August 2nd Storm Footage

Got some fairly decent footage of some forked lightning and long loud rumbling thunder. This was a short storm with a good amount of electricity. A small amount of hail... here at least. The storm was moving from West to East and came right over the house.

Be patient, there's good shots.. You just have to put up with me.

Seeing That I'm Going To Have To Move....

Seeing that I'm going to have to move to a new place, I've begun the arduous task of the striking my gear.
This begins in the basement, in my 'collection room'.

I believe, I have over 100 shirts, long sleeve T's. On the low side, I'd guess at 80, but the high side I might go to 150... But we're gonna see. I have drawers of shirts, I just filled a full garbage bag full of shirts from the basement, they are all my 'special shirts', from Electronic Arts, special X-Files crew shirts and band shirts/Metal T's.
I have at least 15-18 Iron Maiden shirts on their own. I've got offensive shirts, I've got crazy cool shirts.
I've got shirts! And those one's from the basement are just the one's I deemed to 'cool to wear' or one's that I rarely wore... Upstairs here I have a full cabinet full of other shirts I rarely wear and then there's my dresser that has all the shirts I would wear.

EA Sports 'NBA Street Shirt. which I think I got at the EA store in our building. This one is heading for the garbage as it's falling apart around the logo. I 'hang' on to these shirts I guess because I am reminded of a real high point in my life, right before my fall. 

And I just love to support bands or artists or just cool ass freaking art.
